This suspense novel filled a ‘rainy day’ space for me at a time when I really needed a fast moving story to distract me. Perhaps not a great read, but certainly a potentially thought-provoking one.

I am new to reading Dennis Lehane, and while I largely enjoyed this collection of short stories and a play I so far prefer his novels. These short stories fitted neatly into awkward blocks of time and, in their own way, were an enjoyable read.
