About Me

I read voraciously.  Historical, classic and well-written contemporary fiction, biography, management and history all appear prominently on my bookshelves.

As do countless craft books.  Cross-stitch, knitting and embroidery projects also compete for attention.

Naturally, all of this creative and recreational activity is balanced by the need to earn an income.  My family, including Sir Bruce the Battle Rat and ZorroMax (aka Sir Other Little Dog) rely on it.

Since writing this entry, back in August 2007, I have been battling with an autoimmune disorder which has impacted quite severely on my vision.  I am hoping that 2009 will bring some relief on that front.

I participate in a number of on-line book discussion groups, and run one of a number of groups dedicated to discussing the novels of the late Dorothy Dunnett.

What else is worth knowing?
